It is pretty neat. Ground up sea shells, basically. I believe they mine it out in Utah. Very sharp tiny little flakes that cut the exo-skeletons of bugs that come in contact with it. They make an edible grade. I fed it to hogs on occasion in small amounts as an additive when I was raising a few pigs for our freezer and our friends freezers. It is effective on flies too but like a lot of these organic type things requires a lot of extra labor to apply, etc.

However, I have never gotten to partaking myself. The old country character who was the local dealer swore by its health effects. As I commented to my wife "if he had had more than three teeth in his mouth, I might have been more persuaded."
