What happened taday is what I was hoping for, When I checked Zacks today, I noticed that VICL added a new analyst with a strong buy - was 2 strong buys, 2 buys, now three strong, 2 buys. The EPS estimates were not shown as being changed, and there was no press release thaT I can tell (too bad) but the renewed interest was partially attributable
to the new analyst coverage I beleive.

Technically VICL has broken out of both a intermediate down trend (from Oct 97 peak), and longer term (Nov 96) as well, now that VICL is back in the 16's, another piece of good news would keep it above the trendline, but probably result in additional short covering as well.

So to get back to your question, additional analyst was probably the reason for the pop, and if VICL can stay above the trendline, we will probably see the volitility decrease. IMO Scott
