You still seem confused. Only FatRumpLickers are claiming he had over $1B in depreciation. Not me.
The problem with thinking the $1B+ depreciation reflected assets acquired after 1985 is that you're looking at a period that ended in 1994, so less total time to depreciate requires more assets to depreciate. He did not have the necessary assets during that time period to generate $1B+ of depreciation. If he did, you could find a reference to it online.
The other, more plausible explanation is that LOW IQ FatRump is just a bungling, inept loser.
That explanation is evidenced by the following facts concerning the Taj Mahal.
FatRump purchased the Taj Mahal for $273 million in 1988.
He raised $675 million to finance the purchase and completion of the casino, primarily through junk bonds with a 14 percent interest rate.
The casino opened on April 2, 1990.
In 1991, the Taj Mahal went through a prepackaged bankruptcy, resulting in Trump giving a 50 percent stake in the business to its bondholders in exchange for lowered interest rates and a longer payoff schedule.
Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, purchased the Taj Mahal in 1996, in a transaction that valued the property at $890 million. Note: This transaction occurs after the ten year time period when he lost $1B.
His records will tell us what we want to know, they will be turned over soon, and I'm happy to wait and see what we learn.
It's understandable that FatRump and all his FatRumpLickers have been doing everything they can to hide the fact that LOW IQ FatRump is a bungling, inept loser.
