It is very sad there are so many of you who are clueless as to the primary cause of the Civil War. Although I did not learn my history from him, John Hope Franklin, in his major work, From Slavery To Freedom says essentially the same thing I have written on this board. If you do not know who he is, then it is clear that you know nothing of American history or the study thereof. You must be young, or you have been educated at a joke of a University. Otherwise, you would not have reacted the way you did. You probably also believe the Iraq war was fought over WMDs, eh?
