Is anyone going to this conference this week? I think it will be a
great opportunity to get to see who some of these people are and what they have to say plus it should be fun. I wonder if some of KRT's guys will be there. See you there.

The 1998 Vancouver Resource and Energy Investment Conference opens at 7:3=
0 a.m. on Sunday, January 25 at the Hotel Vancouver. This year's conferen=
ce features one of the largest line-ups of speakers ever assembled in Van=
couver. Peter Grandich is host for the first day - speakers include David=
Mayerlen and David Rutt of Canadian Speculator; Robert McAllister - Inv=
estors First; Chris Bunka - Outsider's Overture; Scott Fraser - Natural C=
ontrarian; Brian Fagan - The Fagan Report; John Kaiser - Bottom Fishing R=
eport; David and Eric Coffin - Hard Rock Analyst; James Dines - The Dines=
Letter; Doug Casey - International Speculator; Ted Carter - Carter's Cho=
ice; Ian Doig - Doig's Digest. An Oil and Gas Panel features Ian Doig, Ke=
vin Smith of National Securities, Michael Chapman of US Global Fund and T=
ed Carter. A Gold Outlook panel has Jay Taylor of Gold and Gold Stocks, R=
obert McAllister, Dennis Wheeler of Gold Stock Report, Peter Rehmer of El=
liott Wave and Ken Coleman of Investment Tracker.

Day two, Monday, Jan. 26 kicks off at 8:00 a.m. Blake Desaulniers, Editor=
of The Prospector hosting a panel with analysts Art Ettlinger of Yorkton=
Securities and Norm Duncan of CM Oliver. Following speakers are: Ben Joh=
nson of First Securities; Dennis Wheeler; Jay Taylor; Michael Chapman; Pe=
ter Grandich; Bob Bishop - Gold Mining Stock Report; Peter Rehmer, James =
Dines; and Ken Coleman. A special panel on Exploration Hot Spots has Davi=
d and Eric Coffin, John Kaiser and Chris Bunka. A closing panel on Perspe=
ctives features James Dines, Doug Casey and Bob Bishop with Peter Grandic=
h at the chair.

The 1998 conference introduces Break-Out Sessions. On Sunday morning Paul=
Sarnoff of Silver Strategies will present his Seven Steps to Get Rich wi=
th Silver. He and Eric Coffin will host a panel of active silver explorat=
ion panels. In the afternoon Scott Fraser and Dave Coffin and companies a=
ctive in Uranium exploration will be featured. Monday sessions have Jim H=
itchie of Cuban Investments hosting a panel of companies active in mining=
and oil and gas exploration in Cuba. An afternoon panel on Oil & Gas has=
Ian Doig hosting a panel of active companies.

On Sunday evening an extra panel on Diamonds has been added in response t=
o the activity in Alberta. Hosted by Brian Fagan, it features the main Al=
berta players. As a bonus the evening will have a presentation by Colin F=
erguson of Diamonds Direct, Canada's largest importer of cut stones, who =
will bring everyone up to date on De Beer's marketing strategy. Peter Gra=
ndich enters the picture again, this time as the auctioneer of several se=
lected stones, with the proceeds going to charity.

The exhibit hall features 100 companies active in projects around the wor=
ld. There is a special room for corporate shareholder and investor presen=
tations - the room will be used by David Ingram of Centa Services for a t=
wo hour workshop on Sunday and a one hour session on Monday on his specia=
lty - US and Canadian tax situations and off-shore banking.
