Is it true that Many of the projects Unitec is involved in are "World Bank" financed and pay in US $.How does this work? Are margins as high on these types of projects?
I also understand that you have had some dealings with the Export Development Corporation (EDC) and the Business Development Corp.( BDC). I nderstand they provide some financing for certain projects. What is the differece between these two corporations and what are the usual terms of their financing arangements with Unitec?
I understand that some of your projects require you to post bonds. what are the typical % amaounts required and how do you finance these?
It would appear to me that Unitec 's propriatary Virtual Instumentation and Multi protocol, highly fault tollerant hardware, are superior in many ways to competitors. Are you considering taking an equity injection from a large multinational? Such an arrangement could then provide 1) Financing for huge projects, 2) Contacts for international expansion, 3) Royalties or a % of income generated for Unitec technology distributed and installed by such large resellers. I am thinking along the lines of Dailmer Benze, and Ford Motors buying a big piece of Ballard Energy recently. Are you open to this type of arangement?
I have listed some belefits. What do you see as problems, dangers,
or negatives in such an arangement?
It would appear to me that you have a good network of solid international contacts in the highest levels of industry and Government. Have you thought of some discrete ways or programs to
interest them in participating in the exponential growth of Unitec?
Certainly the best long term shareholders for Unitec would be the very people who have experienced first hand it's leading edge solutions to world infrastructure problems. What I am suggesting is that Unitec be presented as a SCADA solutions provider and also as a wise addition to an investment portfolio simultaneously.I would imagine that there could be dangers in being percieved as trying to flog the stock so it would have to be done very carefully, if at all. I know that you are far more concerned about the fundamental growth of your business, but do you see any potential benefits in what I am suggesting? Problems?
I firmly believe that paper flipping short term stock players can do more harm than good to a growing Company lilke Unitec. Right when you are ready to do some financing for expansion, the short term thinkers are selling their stock for a quick buck, driving your stock down and causing disruption to your market. Naturally I am wondering what plans you have to ensure this does not occur.
Investors must be very selective about which companies they invest in; So also, I believe Companies must be selective about which investors are given opportunity to participate in large placements of stock.I take it that this is a major reason you are seeking a listing on a more sophisticated exchange like the TSE?
