Hello Ed

News Release from yesterday that may be of interest to this thread.

GMD RESOURCES CORP. ANNOUNCES ROYCE GROUP CLAIM SAMPLING ANALYSIS SHOWS DIAMOND INDICATOR MINERALS OF SUPERB QUALITY

VANCOUVER, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - GMD Resource Corp.
VSE Symbol: GMD
Detailed evaluation of the sampling to date on the Royce Group Claims has
shown that the quality of many of the indicator minerals analyzed suggests
sources are multiple, diamondiferous and, in the case of the coarse indicator
population, are proximal. Additionally, it was noted that olivine was not
specified as an indicator mineral in previous sampling and as a result was not
selected from the heavy mineral concentrates. This has been revised and the
re-selecting of grains from previously completed samples has shown olivine to
be present. Olivine is a common accessory mineral in kimberlites and it
significantly contributes as an indicator in till sample interpretation and is
now used as another important exploration tool in the GMD program.
On the basis of the till anomalies defined and known ice-transport
directions, a new airborne magnetics-EM (electromagnetic) survey has been
designed to discover non-magnetic kimberlite sources. Approximately 14,000
line kilometers are presently being contracted to begin in February. This
survey compliments the 1995 magnetic survey of the entire claim block and
targets areas projected as the derivation of the indicator minerals in glacial
tills on the property. Previous exploration has clearly proven that economic
diamond pipes in the NWT have discernible coincident electromagnetic
anomalies.
GMD continues with its plan to begin ground work on the Royce claims in
March. Drilling of high priority anomalies developed from the previous work
and the new airborne survey will begin this Spring after ground surveying and
prioritization. These activities will be followed by a summer exploration
program and drilling and a final round of drilling for 1998 this Fall.
