Forest Laboratories... record quarter... turnaround play... NEW YORK, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Forest Laboratories, Inc. (Amex: FRX - news), an international pharmaceutical manufacturer and marketer, today reported operating results for its third fiscal quarter and nine months ended December 31, 1997. Net income in the third quarter was $19,484,000 as compared to a net loss of $32,313,000 reported in the third quarter of the prior year. Diluted net income per share equaled $.47 in the current year as compared to a net loss per share of $.76 in last year's third fiscal quarter. Net revenues for the three months ended December 31, 1997 were $130,072,000 as compared to $42,662,000 in the prior year's quarter.
