Started a small Buy in AG genetic research company Arcadia Biosciences (RKDA) @ $5.69/share.

Company is located in Davis CA (near University CA Davis the premiere AG research University) and my alma mater. The value is in their research and development potential leveraging on UCD (PHD students).

From May 2019 - Arcadia Biosciences’ Hawaiian Hemp Farm in Full Bloom Arcadia Specialty Genomics, the company’s new cannabis unit, cultivates six Hawaiian hemp strains on its 10-acre Hawaiian facility.

I had this on my AG watch list as they were connect w/ UCD but really no significant plant/breeds under development. There is/has been many studies at the University on salt tolerent plants (ie rice) and other food crops under research.

Today's news was the reason for my Buy:

Ag bio players rally on Trump order for simpler path for bioengineered crops
Jun. 12, 2019 12:37 PM ET

Agricultural biotechs Arcadia Biosciences ( RKDA +15.9%) and Yield10 Bioscience ( YTEN +5.4%) are both up on increased volume in apparent response to an executive order from President Trump to federal agencies to ease the rules for approving genetically modified crops and other agricultural biotechnology.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, the FDA and the EPA all have jurisdiction over genetically engineered agricultural products.

The EO may/could allow faster development of important food crops. Company could also be a candidate for CTVA to partner with and/or acquire (for their research group).
