Sdgla,
Only a dirty rat would knowingly fund terrorists with $1.7 billion.
Libtard NPCs parrot the line that we "owed" that money to Iran.

There was no world authority that determined that at the time. Even if the World Court was likely to rule against us (which was no sure thing), we did not have to return that money until such a ruling happened. (And even if such a ruling took place, they don't really have the authority to enforce it, but that's irrelevant now.)

The fact that is that we paid that $1.7B before any formal ruling was made, but we didn't have to. That means the payment was a concession in order to get Iran to do something.

In this case, Iran returned hostages in exchange for the payment. Any way you slice it, this was a ransom payment, and it tells kidnappers all around the world that abducting U.S. citizens pays very well.
