Of course you're against it, because it would give the citizens of "Jefferson" some actual representation.

Funny how I live in what's considered to be "Northern California," even though geographically I'm rather central to the state. Even the terminology "northern, southern, central" California basically assumes that "Jefferson" doesn't really count.
