Protecting my fruits.

I have plenty of fruits in my backyard : cherries, pears, apple, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, plums, peaches, etc.

Unfortunately, the birds and squirrels get to them before I do. I am looking for advice on how to protect them.

I have some big nets. But I have not covered a tree before (and some of the trees are ~10'). I don't know if I should cover the whole tree or cut the net to size for individual branches or segments. And what should I do if the tree is bigger than a single piece of net can cover (use ties between the nets? Wrap overlapping nets and use rope?)

Also, I am guessing that nets will not help with the strawberies. I saw someone putting plastic domes on theirs. Not sure how that will hold against squirrels (or the wind). But it seemed like a good idea.

Any ideas?
