Re: Conv quotes on Yahoo.

Getting back to the problem of conv symbols which don't describe the particular bond you want, I just punch up a quote for each symbol and sometimes there is more info on the interest rate and maturity given with the actual quote. Otherwise it's a process of elimination based on the conv price from another source.

Re: Convertible Preferred Stock.

A quick look at preferreds makes me think that they are not suitable for hedges because they don't form much protection on the downside.
