New Acronis will do the clone with Windows running and I've done it, but it's still spooky and stopped using the computer while it was cloning.

The new free version of Seagate DiskWizard written by Acronis was released in 2019 does live cloning and that's what I experimented with.

The latest free Acronis WD Edition was released Dec. 2016 and it will still do everything from a boot CD.

The WD Edition is what I put on my friend's computer.

My latest licensed version of Acronis is 2017 and it behaves like the 2016 WD Edition.
