Golden Goliath Resources (GNG-V) June 20, '19 technical team has now completed the initial ground assessment of the company's new Wish Ore prospect in the Batchewana greenstone belt north of Sault Ste Marie, Ont. It has established the proper location for the exploration grids needed for geophysics and detailed grid geochemistry on the Wish Ore property and has conducted preliminary channel sampling of some of the showings. Line cutting will begin as soon as possible.
The team confirmed the extensive quartz iron carbonate alteration in the trench zone with samples across 14 metres of exposure in the west end to two metres sampled 180 metres to the east. Sampling was limited by existing exposure and what could revealed with hand tools. All exposures were open in all directions. Two parallel areas of alteration and quartz veining were also identified north and south of the main alteration zone.
At the new zone three kilometres along trend to the southwest, sampling was completed across the outcrop that had returned 25.57 grams per tonne in a grab sample. Channel sampling identified a one-metre section of intense silicification with disseminated chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite within a four-metre section of quartz iron carbonate alteration.
Approximately 100 metres to the south a similar vein was identified and sampled in outcrop parallel to the new zone.
The next phase of work on Wish Ore will involve detailed geophysics across the mineralized zones to trace them to the east and west and pick up the parallel zones that the team discovered, as well as geological mapping, prospecting and geochemistry.
The crew has now moved to the Red Lake area to do similar work on the Kwai and SLF properties, which lie on the south side of Great Bear Resources' properties.
Work will continue throughout the summer on all three properties and regular updates will be provided. This work is expected to delineate drill targets for the next stage of exploration, which the company expects will occur in the late summer or fall.
