There's no trade problem. China can simply say "Made in USA can be sold here, no tariffs, no quotas. Intellectual property will be protected. Fentanyl black marketeers will be converted to organ donors. No demands on USA to buy anything if they don't want to, and USA can put any tariffs they like on Made in China imports."

Hey presto, all the problems go away. While China is at it, they could allow anyone to buy yuan in any amount and move it anywhere to anywhere.

China can run itself like the British governors ran Hong Kong. There was no democracy but Hong Kong boomed.
