RE: ORCL, NSCP, or IOM?
Once again, I agree with some of what Rocky has to say.
ORCL - Rocky is positive. I disagree.I think there's a good chance that ORCL will recover this year, but there's also a good bit of danger. With the Net PC, Ellison is going head-to-head against MSFT and INTC. This has never been a winning proposition. Also, growth seems to be flattening out a bit.
NSCP - Rocky is negative. I agree, for the same reasons Rocky mentioned. I like Netscape products, but they are rapidly losing market share to Microsoft. In order to prosper, NSCP must make some drastic changes, IMHO.
IOM - Rocky is negative. I disagree. The street has given IOM very little of the respect that it deserves. Although the trailing P/E is higher than ORCL, the growth rate and forward P/E is much better. Although their products should be classified as "mature" by now, they are not. Growth and OEM penetration continue to climb at a dramatic rate. Competition is failing miserably.
One year from now, I predict that IOM will be a clear winner, NSCP will be a clear loser, and your guess is as good as mine on ORCL. (BTW, my money is where my mouth is.)
