The proper strategy here is to give Kim amnesty for the crimes of him and his family, dissolve the DPRK, and unite Korea. The people of both Koreas would forever love us. We'd have China surrounded with allies (Russia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan). As usual, the main impediment is our domestic enemies. These people don't even know that the Soviet Union is gone, even though it's been 3 decades.
