I found this post on the Yahoo boards regarding SKYC, of which I have a nice position in. SirAlex had asked me about SKYC's boat systems and I thought this might shed more light on what SKYC offers. I'm still not sure what FTRK offers. Is is a TV? Or is it voice and data communications like SKYC's? Does FTRK's product do position tracking, too?

I hope someone can take the time to respond. I might also add that QCOM offers the Omni-track for boat communications and for boat positioning/tracking. Their product has been selling well, as I understand it.

Yes the tracphone KVH Industries. These can fit on boats as small as 36
feet or as large as a cruise ship. tracphone attitude sensors precisely
measures the pitch, roll and yaw of a boat or ship allowing the
three-axis stabalized pedestal to compensate for movement and keep the
antena precisely aimed at the AMSC-1 Satellite. The antena is 19.5" high
by 19.25" deameter and weighs 30 pounds. They are priced from 4800.00
and cost 1.49 per min.
I beleive this is quite cheap for a system of this type I beleive I read
where most communication setups for vessels would be around8-10 thousand
dollars. >>
