| | | which slowed progress of Windows advancing forward
Curious statement. Depends on your definition of advancing I reckon. I take notice when things that were working, stop working based solely on a date on the calendar. Wasn't there a printer manufacturer that put an expiration date in their ink cartridges to force you to buy another cartridge even though there was plenty of ink left?
I'm more concerned with what the many established connections my computer has made to Microsoft registered IP addresses around the world, are used for.
In the distant past I could use Ethereal and monitor what my computer was doing while idle, but with the Windows 10 level of traffic being phoned home, forget it, netstat becomes useful.
Until Microsoft let's me turn off all of their data collection, and be able to confirm it is turned off, Windows 10 will remain suspect for me. It was bad enough to kill the updates Microsoft added to Windows 7 and Windows 8 for data collection after Windows 10 came out.

I'm sure I am in a small minority, and that's alright with me.
Sorry to clutter the thread Josh, when Windows 7 is crippled, I'll decide what to do next... |
