Josh it was all my fault what happened to Windows 10 install. I was contacted by my ISP a 1.5 years ago that I needed to upgrade my DSL modem, they sent me out a new one, I said will the old one still work they said yes, but the recommended the new one be hooked up.

I recall now I had problems with my XP machine getting a Ethernet connection around 2015-2016 and had to use a USB wireless device to connect it. When I got my Dell it was fine, my other two laptops I have have no problems with the Internet on Ethernet.

If I would have changed that modem when I installed Windows 10 I would not have run into this problem. If only that Dell tech could have been on duty Sunday, I could have swapped the modem and have no issues with Windows 10. He was the only tech that said your problem does not sound like a software issue with Windows, it sounds like the modem, but I told him I have 2 other computers using Ethernet with no problems, but he still felt it was the modem and was 100% right.

All other techs from Dell and Microsoft figured it was software causing the issue.

Its my fault for not upgrading the modem when my ISP said too. I have rebooted this computer many times and my connection is almost immediate. I do not recall it ever being that fast before to get an Ethernet connection.

Moral of the story, when your ISP recommends you upgrade the modem, you do it.
