The US Navy's involvement in the project was to lease to SolarRanch 72 acres of an old naval air station that was shut down in 1993. SolarRanch owns and operates 100% of the project and sells 100% of its 53MW of output to TVA in a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement.

53MW to TVA's system capacity of roughly 20,000MW is...well, rounding error.

But the project is great public relations for: the state, the Navy, MLGW, and TVA.
