They understand physics.

It is more than just physics. Simple observation will confirm the predictions of physics. I recently looked over some maps that show the plant hardiness zones for the state of Texas for 1990 and 2012. In 1990, there was no zone 10. By 2012, there was down at the southern tip. Zone 6 dominated the Panhandle in 1990. By 2012 it was just a small sliver along the very top. Zone 7 and zone 8 were roughly the same size in 1990. By 2012, zone 8 dominated.

These maps are based on averages over 3 decades. So it isn't like a single, unusually warm or cold year is going to change them much. This is the result of long term changes. I suppose you can concoct some vast conspiracy that involves even the plants and animals, but that takes a touching faith I just can't gin up, personally...
