I have a Qnap 2 bay unit. I bought from B&H photo. The software and more importantly technical support are great. There is a learning curve in properly formatting and backing up the drives. But after a few mistakes early on it works like a charm. I honestly think you are over estimating your storage needs. The largest file on the drive is a 50gig 4k version of the 2018 movie Phantom Thread. To be honest 4k on a 65 in 4k tv doesn’t look any better than a 1080K version and the space difference for storage is maybe 10 times. All of my videos are mp4 or mkv. If you are really interested we can take this conversation via PM. I don’t leave my NAS on all of the time it has a clock system to turn it on and off when I know I might want to use when out of the area or county. Backing up is more complicated than I expected. So I have a separate 8tb usb external drive to store the raw data.
