I think curved TVs were just a gimmick, and proved to be an unpopular one at that. That is why they are being dumped.

I agree also I notice 3D TV has officially died

Over the decades I have spent a lot of money buying the latest in greatest Computer i could afford and often seeing the latest technology not take hold or quickly surpassed by something else. Even the Beta vs VHS comes to mind

So I am in the market for a new bedroom TV and keep asking myself why pay the extra money for the higher end $1200-1600 65" 4K model, when the lower cost $660-950 will do just fine and I will likely update in sooner. So seeing a lot of curved TV being heavily discounted and thought maybe get one for the bedroom
