7/5/2019 Contest update
Biotech fireworks were mostly muted during the Independence Day week, with 2019's second half getting off to a slow start.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 21.50% YTD (vs. up 21.91% a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 12.88% YTD (vs. up 12.63% a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 21.01% YTD (vs. up 21.90% a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 23.01% YTD (vs. up 20.66% YTD a week ago).
BULBA’s portfolio continued as Contest leader with a 107.55% YTD gain. KMASTR’s portfolio, up 78.43% YTD, remained in second place with ANDRE’s portfolio, up 78.17% YTD, a smidgen behind in third place.
At Friday's close, 32 of the 39 Contest portfolios were still in the green, while 27 were now beating the NBI and 21 were now beating the SPSIBI.
The 167 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 27.62% and a median YTD gain of 11.01%.
