I remember, pre-9/11, when it was becoming uncool to fly the American flag, because it was associated with hicks, rednecks, backwater militia, and overly patriotic zealots.
Right after the attacks, there was a guy who stood on a highway overpass and just waved the American flag. He had to justify himself by saying that he wasn't normally a flag-waver, but he just felt like he had to because of the events that just occurred.
I still remember that apologetic disclaimer. I still remember why he had to say it. It was because of anti-patriotic libtards at the time, who thankfully were silenced because the whole nation came together in response to the attacks.
Now we've come full circle. The economy is blazing again, terrorism is becoming a fading memory, and prosperity is enabling left-wing idiots to entertain ideas of socialism once again.
Oh yeah, and the world is ending because of that climate changey thingy ...
