At the debate, all of your candidates raised their hands in support of decriminalizing illegal border crossings.

Can you not see the slippery slope here? Anytime a behavior is decriminalized, more people will engage in that behavior. History has shown us that.

Being branded a criminal with a felony record is a big deterrent. Not much deterrence in crimes that are civil and just carry a fine.
