If the analyst would have done his homework, he would have found that, for the March 1997 quarter, revenues were down sequentially from the preceding December 1996 quarter. Also, he would have found that the March 1996 quarter was down sequentially from the December 1995 quarter. Further, in the March 1997 earnings release, Mr. House stated that "the first calendar quarter of the year can reflect typical seasonal softness." If the analyst knew his stuff, maybe he would not have stupidly made the above statement.
