SOUTH RIVER, N.J. -- IDM Environmental Corp.'s
(IDMC) IDM Energy Corp. unit signed a protocol of
intention with the Ministry for Fuel and Energy of
Georgia for the right to construct, own and operate
electric energy plants in the region.

In a press release Wednesday, IDM Environmental said
that under the protocol, it will have an irrevocable right
of first refusal for development of projects.

IDM Environmental began discussions with the Georgia
ministry on an initial 35-year power purchase agreement
to establish terms for the sale of electric power from a
generating plant or plants with a capacity of up to 1,000
megawatts. The capital cost for the plant/plants is
expected to be $500 million to $750 million, dependent
on final designs, fuel utilized and number of plants built.

The company expects to sign the agreement within three
months.

The company said preliminary engineering is set to begin
immediately on eight potential projects.

IDM and the Georgia ministry will also jointly evaluate
the feasibility of erecting high-voltage transmission lines
to export electrical energy to other countries.

IDM Environmental provides environmental remediation
and plant decommissioning services.
