Here's a clue for organizations like this. If you are trying to create a brighter future for your victim mentality identity group, then how about starting with not being racist yourselves? If you want to lift up your own group, then you have to be better than the people who you believe are holding you down.
- First step, get the chip off your shoulder.
- Second step, stop blaming others for your own situation. Believe that you have the power to improve your own situation despite any and all challenges.
- Third step, look around and find successful people and model their behaviors. Get a mentorship with one of them if you can....and yes, they don't necessarily have to be your same skin color.
- Fourth step, educate yourself, work hard, and be independent...don't ask anyone for favors or hand outs.
- Fifth step, NEVER give up. Success will come after you learn how to get back up EVERY time you get knocked down. Stay focused and keep moving forward.
- Sixth step, enjoy your independence and success. It will be hard and well earned and you won't owe anyone, including the government, for your success. It will be all your own. Pride, dignity, and confidence is a product of independence, not hand outs.
These are just basic things. That stupid organization violated the first two steps before they even had their stupid and now obviously worthless event. |
