Just talked to my Doc. He said my 'risk factor' for a heart attack was a bit high and I should consider some drugs. I asked him how these risk factors were determined since my blood work was very good. He dodged the question by saying something like 'you are older' it effects your risk levels. I thanked him for the advice and told him not to bother with any prescription...... This is how they suck people into taking crap. Better to get out and march ten or twenty miles on the weekend. If I have a heart attack at least it will be quick and over.

He did have some good recommendations regarding my immunizations and I am headed in this week to get some things taken care of. I keep my insurance because I of that 5 chance of a major accident. But I always feel like I am paying for others' stupidity. Its often the price of intelligent care of one's own body. Would much prefer that we do away with all this Socialist Crap and allow the assessment of real risk to determine our premiums.
