I was doing my daily sampling of People's Radio yesterday. Some woman was reassuring us that al-Shabab didn't hate Americans. They are simple people who want to control Somalia for the good of Somalians.

I resent every single micro cent of my tax dollars that goes to that outfit.

Nalayeh, who grew up in Canada, returned to Somalia last year to highlight positive stories about her country of birth.

Very sad irony there.
