I'm a bit torn on the college loans myself. On one hand, those kids/parents never stood a chance against the school marketing campaigns around that lending program nor would a legit lender ever had made those loans. On the other hand, the kids/parents need to take some responsibility for making a bad decision.

I rigorously discouraged my kids from student loans without having a solid career plan in place to pay it back. And it makes me sick to think of kids/parents getting "free" rides as a result of their irresponsibility while my kids education was/is being paid responsibly upfront thanks to planning and sacrifice.

And in a sense, I am already paying for others loans since the increased demand has caused tuition to go through the roof.
