WTF? It does indeed hurt to try.

Big government socialism has been tried many times. Every time it has been a complete failure. Every time the damage is extremely hard to fix. Every time it's almost impossible to undo the dependencies it creates.

Growing government is as easy as falling off a cliff. Reducing government is hard. Even Trump can't do that.

Heck, I live in an area that, had it not been for high tech, would have become Detroit thanks to socialism.
