Yes, I saw the interview on Squawk Box this morning, and I agree, he did a very good job. What I found most interesting was when he was asked if the RBOCs are really cutting down on their spending. He said it was more of a company thing rather than the an entire industry slow-down. He explained it as this: the small players may feel that RBOCs are cutting spending because equipment buyers aren't buying single boxes anymore. Most now choose to buy entire networks, this was where LU came in. IMO, he made it very clear that LU did not experience any type of slowdown, when he was asked several times by a Soundview Analyst if they showed any signs of one. Overall, he gave the impression that LU is in a very strong position and they will continue to perform very well. The only weakness he spoke of was soft sales of DSP's in their Microelectronics segment which he did not seem concerned with in the least, because overall, he stated that their Microelectronics segment grew by 18.5% percent (may have been 15.5%, can't quite remember that one).
