Fwiw, here are some of my reversion-to-mean plays which haven't worked out (I am showing losses so far) and date of my initial buys:

banks: SIVB (3/19), PACW (7/18) and CHL (11/17)

autos: MCA (1/18), FCAU (11/17)

finance: JHG (8/18)

healthcare services: OMI (11/18) (have taken substantial losses on earlier buys)

railroad: RAIL (8/18)

retailer: JWN (1/19)

car parts: LKQ (11/18)

tv retailer: QRTEA (11/18)

business services: MC (11/17)

construction: TPC (2/18)

media: DHXM (5/18)

roofing: BECN (10/18)

components/assemblies: NNBR (11/18)

retailer (jewelry): SIG (1/19) (have taken losses on earlier buys)

food: BGS (held in several accounts)

electronic distributor: RELL (4/19)

retailer, misc: BIG (5/18)

oil/gas: AR, CDEV, DNR, ESTE, ESV GTE, HOS, LLEX, SWN

Also, fwiw, AAWW: Here's one where the company seems to be executing ok, is owned about 8% by Amazon, has a low forward p/e, but where I added to my position at the wrong time (9/17-10/17), and consequently show a 25% loss. I am intending to hold on until better times for the stock, hopefully.
