| He was on twitter and forwarded a tweet from Trump on immigration. This was a year or so ago, so I can't remember exactly what he said, but I do remember that my dad called me and asked if I could see his tweet. I could not, but he could see it. So it was what I think is shadow banning. Then they banned him completely, so he could no longer tweet. It was bizarre and I remember thinking that my dad's tweets were non-offensive. My dad's very old and he was getting a kick out of telling everyone he's on twitter. It was like a badge of honor for him to be so technologically savvy. I myself am on twitter, but I never tweet. I use it to follow people and newspapers, so I get the news I want to see. We're a family full of lawyers and accountants and technical people, so we know full well that you have to be limited on anything offensive online, so we generally avoid that as much as possible, although I've had my lapses. My father, however, is one of the least offensive people I know. He was always diplomatic. So this was a surprise to me. Anyway, it is what it is. I thought it was a fluke, but it opened my eyes and now I watch for it and I see it everywhere. It's like taking that red pill in the Matrix or the Tree of Knowledge in Genesis. Once you open your eyes, you can't stop seeing things you'd rather not see, because it is ugly and it smells like the beginning of totalitarianism in this country. |
