Have these "scientists" considered planting trees? That is by far the most sensible approach to dealing with the CO2 problem. It harmless, long-term in nature, and will go a very long way toward solving the problem if you do it in big numbers. Worldwide, there is as much land as that in the CONUS that is entirely practical for reforestation.

If you want to plant trees, go for it. 40 years from now someone can cut them down and start over.

It is as close as you can get to doing it nature's way.
