It seems like the major contention (both on this thread and amongst "true" left wingers in general) is over what programs to implement given the limitations of time and money that would best benefit society. The important part to me, that should be bringing us together (but is instead tearing us apart), is that we believe that there are better ways to spent money other than throwing it at corporate and elitist interests and the war machine. Not that I have a solution to the contention, but just wanted to point it out as I watch this thread tear itself apart. A possible way forward maybe for us to focus and move forward with universal health care, because I think we can all agree that that is a "must do".
