I actually think the root issue in the country isn't left or right. Rather, it is big money versus the little guy. I would like to see us move left, but we are not moving anywhere good until politicians and laws can no longer be bought.

So the primary requirement for me is a candidate that has rejected big money campaign funding and is serious about campaign finance and lobbying reform. Secondary, at this point, would be that they support a significant piece of left leaning legislation.

Represent.us agrees and is trying force change from the bottom up...going on the theory that change from the top down is impossible. IE you can't stop big money by trying to elect a president that is against big money when big money is what gets presidents elected.

To be more specific, all the candidates are tarnished in one way or another, but for the record the two that caught my attention a while back are Bernie and Warren. However, Bernie really turned me off when he supported Hillary. His willingness to tow the party line, made me seriously question his sincerity. As for Warren, it seems that as she gains popularity she is turning from the practical and the reasonable to trying to play to the crowd.

There is a decent chance that I would have voted for Bernie if the party had not stabbed him in the back in 2016. Not that I think it would have made a difference if Bernie was president. One guy trying to push through campaign finance reform isn't going to cut it. It would have been like farmer trying to convince a bunch of pigs to stop eating the free food that the neighbor's keep chucking over the fence. <g>
