Ellis; I went to the demo this evening. It appears the co. is much further along now than last year. The co. maintains that 4 very key things have happened recently that positions them in a strong way. 1. The announcements regarding General Instruments and Scientific Atlanta compatability with their next generation of digital set top boxes. 2. The deals that General Instruments made with a group of cable service providers led by TCI for 15 million set top boxes. 3. The cable co's. settling on an open standard for the operating systems on all new boxes. 4. TCI slecting both Microsoft and Sun Micro Java as operating systems for their roll out of boxes[of which SRCM'S software is compatable]. The next step will be for the applications people such as SRCM to start making their deals. By the way the meeting was very well attended and most of the major brokerage houses were represented. Also, I heard someone from Barrons was there and an article might be coming but I personally did not see him/her. Regards, MW
