To pass the particular class in High School, the teacher set up a point system to determine the grade. So many for an "A", so many for a "B", and so on. To get a "D", or essentially a passing grade, one had to accumulate 4 points. Each book, from a specific selection of books was assigned a point value. I read the four easiest I could find one of them being "Animal Farm"(?), Steinbeck (?). It has been so long ago I just don't remember. But that particular book for some reason I enjoyed and remember most from High School. Come to think of it, "Silas Marner" wasn't that bad either.
I had two things working against me my Junior year, one of my own making (guess), and the other was my reading speed was in the mid 70's range (high 90's being the best). By that time, it was get the required number of credits and get OUT!!
But speaking of High School, how many, if any, of your reunions have you gone to? And along that same theme, "Romy and Michell's High School Reunion" is worth renting in the $1 range. I liked it; some of it was actually funny. |
