There are dozens of ways to kill a lot of people if someone has a mind to do so. Suicide vests have been extremely popular at times in some places. Cars are sometimes used to kill groups of people.

In 1984 a small bar in the town I live in had five killed early one morning. Handgun.

Shortly before that, a bar near where I worked had six killed, same way.

If there were only 100 million guns in the USA instead of 300 million, I don't think it changes much. A shotgun with the plug removed and loaded with buckshot can kill large numbers in the span of a minute or two. You think you're going to get all the shotguns?
