‘Students for Trump’ co-founder pleads guilty to wire fraud in Manhattan

He’s a student for Trump — who can’t vote.

“Students for Trump” co-founder John Lambertpleaded guilty Tuesday to felony charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for illegally pocketing nearly $50,000 by pretending to be a lawyer online.

“Are you aware you are not an attorney?” Manhattan federal court judge Valerie Caproni asked the baby-faced fraudster before he accepted his guilty plea.

“Yes, your honor,” the 23-year-old replied.

Lambert told the judge he and another unnamed person were guilty of “representing we were qualified lawyers and providing legal services” to victims.

The Tennessee-born college student said he spoke with a victim in Manhattan while he was in North Carolina during the August 2016-to April 2018 scheme.

While he was running the scam, Lambert was appearing on NBC and Fox News in support of Donald Trump’s 2016 run for office.

Lambert went by the name “Eric Pope” and pretended he’d graduated from NYU law school while outfitting his fake website with bios ripped from other law firms’ websites, according to prosecutors.

“Lambert’s de facto career was one of a grifter: he had never been to law school and certainly wasn’t an attorney,” US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement. “Today, Lambert admitted to his crimes and faces time in prison for his misdeeds.”

He faces up to 20 years behind bars when sentenced on Nov. 4.
