Robert, I haven't seen any benchmarks yet for Intel's 440BX chipset based motherboards, so what you say is conjecture. Do you know differently? Assume though for a minute that what you say is correct. Intel is still likely to be well ahead of any Socket7 offering in raw frequency, so the issue is moot. It looks like Intel will announce a 333mhz PII next week. That still leaves them 2 speed grades ahead of what AMD has announced but apparently not yet able to ship in the form of a 266mhz K6 on a .25u process. I suspect that by the time Intel is ready with their 100mhz bus 440BX, they may very well be ready with a MUCH higher frequency Deschutes processor. Perhaps as much as 4-5 speed grades ahead of anything AMD can hope to ship in that time frame. They are doing 300mhz on .35u, do you really think 333mhz is all they can do with .25u? As Homey would say, I don't think so....... As a faithful AMD zelot was fond of saying, STAY...... TUNED.....
