Addi,

I was probably a bit too pessimistic about the current economical situation in Europe as the most recent reports from some companies indicate an upturn in Europe.
Anyway, I bought some MSFT at $ 119 and I assume you still own your shares as well. Since the MSFT board on SI is not that active I would like to ask you and perhaps our fellow shareholder twister, who promised to reveal his identity this year if I remember correctly, to comment on Microsoft's earnings report.

The numbers look very good to me and if sales in Asia were down 8% and the they still managed a growth rate of 27% in the Other International group I wonder how much Asia can impact future earnings. Surely they made a cautious statement but that's what they always do to lower the bar for the next quarter so I'm not overly concerned.

The OEM sales look great as well and as long as those sub $ 1000 Pcs grow rapidly and Dell and Compaq do well, I don't see a reason for any change. Windows98 won't be a major product update and therefore Microsoft did well by pointing the current legal dispute to this product. That way nobody will bother about their other monopolies.

The only concern is that Windows NT will not appear that soon. This is positive for Sun but if Microsoft wants to compete and grow in the business market they have to come up with this product soon.

What is your opinion about the report.
Sorry for being off topic but I feel that the market reaction to MSFT will affect Sun's stock as well.
BTW, MSFT trades at 133 7/8 her in Germany right now and the media put a very negative spin on the report.
