In other words, sea ice extent grew 1,140,000 sq miles from Nov 2016 to Nov 2018. That’s enough EXTRA ice to entirely cover all six New England states, plus the states of New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
