Trump backed off for a couple of likely reasons: 1. He wants to get reelected and he is concerned his tariffs are unpopular and will lead to much slower growth, if not recession. 2. Maybe he realizes his tariffs are not working as he thought they would.

Given Trump's confrontational attitude toward most nations over trade, he was not in a position to establish a global coalition against China.

I agree with you about the Dems: they need an agenda outside of racism and climate change. There is no way I can vote for Warren, Harris, Sanders or the Indy Mayor. I would like to see a moderate from either party step forth. Joe Biden looks frail and ancient.

Safe Havens have done well, but gold looks tired and needs to rest. In the big down phase, everything will go down, including bonds too, I'm afraid.
