As of January 4, 2016, the first trading day that year until yesterday, August 14, 2019:

AAPL went from 98.74 to 202.75, a gain of 105.3%

GOOGL went from 759.44 to 1,164.25, a gain of 53.3%

AAPL has gained nearly twice what GOOGL did in that period.

AAPL paid a dividend every quarter during that interval of time. GOOGL has never paid a dividend.

Including dividends, AAPL has returned more than twice what GOOGL has over that interval.

Which stock would you rather own, the one with higher growth or the one that gives you twice as much money in your account?

How 'bout them Apples!
